Seguimos con Bolivia

La Paz está llena de casas hasta en las montañas y la ciudad es gigante. En el bus de Puno a Bolivia me puse jugar y a jugar y me mareé hasta vomitar. Lo que más me gusto de La Paz fue el mercado de brujas. También me la pase comiendo "dieta de pollo" para la cena. La dieta de pollo es un caldito de pollo riquísimo.

Tiwanaku es en Bolivia y queda a 13,000 pies sobre el mar y rodeado de la cordillera de los Andes.

Estábamos muy cerca de las nubes y pensaba que estaba en el cielo. Los colores del paisaje en Tiwanaku son bellos.

Kanchita la exploradora de Tiwanaku a punto de subir la pirámide... cuando comenzó a llover. Entonces corrimos entre fango, lluvia y frío hasta el museo. Pero Canita la perra calata se había desmayado del frío y la agarré y me la guardé en el bolsillo del abrigo.

Kanchita the explorer of Tiwanaku about to climb up the pyramid... when it began to rain. Then we ran through mud, rain and cold to the museum. But Canita, the calata dog had fainted from the cold and I grabbed her and kept her in my coat's pocket.

Yo tomé esta foto antes de subir a la pirámide después de la lluvia. La pirámide estaba incompleta y cubierta de tierra. Los arqueólogos la estaban restaurando para que la gente pueda ir a verla. La guia nos dijo que encontraron sacrificios humanos en Tiwanaku.

I took this picture just befor climbing up the pyramid after the rain. The pyramid was incomplete and covered with earth. The archaeologists were restoring it so people can see it. The guide told us they had found human sacrifices in Tiwanaku.

Diseños en las piedras. Designs in the stones.

LLegamos a la Puerta del Sol y vimos a Viracocha tallado en la puerta de piedra. Viracocha es un dios andino de la sierra del sur de Perú y Bolivia. Era el dios de la creación.

We arrived at the Gate of the Sun, and saw Viracocha carved in the stone door. Viracocha is an andean god of the mountains of southern Peru and Bolivia. He was the god of creation.

Terminé de leer Kika Superbruja y la momia. Mi parte favorita fue cuando Kika estaba en Egipto cerca de la momia. Era emocionante y daba miedo, pero sabía que la momia estaba adentro del libro y no me pasaría nada. Pero como quiera me daba miedo.

I just finished reading Kika Superwitch and the Mummy. Mi favorite part was when Kika was in Egypt close to the mummy. It was exciting and scary, but I knew that the mummy was inside the book so nothing was going to happen to me. Anyway, it was scary.

Caminando a Bolivia

Un pie en Perú y otro en Bolivia. Así fue que llegue a Bolivia. Ni en barco, ni en avión, ni en bus... Llegué caminando, caminando, caminando señoras y señores. Yo nunca había pensado que podía cruzar de un país a otro.

One foot in Peru and another in Bolivia. That's how I came to Bolivia. Not by ship, not by airplane or by bus... I came in walking, walking, walking ladies and gentlemen. I had never thought that I could cross from one country into another.

Floating islands are coming up....

This is a floating island.


Un pie en la isla flotantes. Las islas flotantes donde viven los Uros están en el Lago Titikaka.
El día de navidad fuimos a la isla de Taquile y una de las islas flotantes. Las islas flotantes están hechas de totora. Totora es una planta que usan para hacer todo como para comer, las usan para hacer botes y sus casas y las islas.

A foot on the floating islands. The floating islands where the Uros live are in Lake Titikaka. On Christmas day, we went to Taquile island and to one of the floating islands. The floating islands are made with totora. Totora is a plant that they use for everything like for eating, building their boats, their houses and the islands.

Isla Taquile

Line está conmigo. La conocí en la isla de Taquile. Yo compartí mis dulces y le regalé mi muñeca.
Caminamos juntas. No podíamos hablar por que ella solo habla quechua, no importa la pasamos bien.

Line is here with me. I met her in Taquile island. I shared my candies and gave her my doll. We walked together. We couldn't talk because she only speaks quechua, but that didn't matter, we had a great time.

En esta foto las faldas se están secando al sol. Las faldas se llaman polleras. Las casas están hechas de barro y los baños estaban afuera en una casita aparte.
In this photo skirts are drying in the sun. These skirts are called "polleras". The houses were made of clay and the bathrooms were outside in a separate little house.

Esta es la isla de Taquile. Yo ví ovejas y vacas en la isla y las cuidaban los niños como yo. De las ovejas usan la lana para abrigarse y las vacas las usan para mantenerse alimentados con su leche. En esta isla los hombres tejen cinturones y sus tejidos son Patrimonio de la Humanidad.
En los cinturones explican la vida de ellos y su familia.
This island is Taquile. I saw sheep and cows in the island and they were cared for by children like me. From the sheep they use the wool for warmth and the cows keep them well fed with their milk. In this island the men weave belts and their weaving is a Patrimony of Humanity. In these belts they explain their lives and their families'.

Aquí con papá de camino a la isla Taquile por el lago Titikaka. Hay que tomar mucha agua por que hay que caminar un montón y da mucha sed.
Here with my dad on the way to Taquile island in Lake Titikaka. It is neccesary to drink a lot of water because you have to walk a lot and you get a lot of thirst.

En el Titikaka

Titikaka significa "Gran Puma Gris". El lago es tan grande que adentro cabe Puerto Rico y sigue siendo isla. En el Titikaka hacía frío y era de color gris, no azul ....gris. Yo estaba en un barco con Titi, Christopher, mamá y papá.

Titikaka means "Great Grey Puma". The lake is so large that Puerto Rico fits inside and still would be an island. In the Titikaka there was cold and it was gray, not blue... gray. I was in a ship with Auntie, Christopher, mommy and daddy.
